Weekly Roundup 2: EA and Micro-transactions

0

Another video editorial, this time on EA’s comment that they’ll include micro-payments in all games in the future. I also mention a couple of recent games and ramble about DLC and (what I consider to be) improper implementation of marketplace features.

Weekly Roundup: My thoughts on the PS4 event!

My first weekly roundup, covering the PS4 launch (vaguely, I have a more in depth video in progress), and what I’ve been playing.

Worst green-screen ever! I’m working on that though.

Video Review: Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams

After backing the game on Kickstarter I thought I should play and review the game. To cut things short I was really impressed.

Seven minute of gameplay video which I talk over and score the game. I also go into the history of the series and how far the game has come in terms of consistency and distancing itself from it’s Mario-clone roots.

Apologies for my voice, I had a terrible cold when I recorded this! Please subscribe to the Youtube channel and “Like” the video, it helps a lot.

Mixel Plays Far Cry 3 pt1

I’ve been working on the setup necessary to do gameplay vids decently for some time, and have quite a backlog of recorded video. There are still some hiccups and hurdles to get over, but this is a start!

Bring on the games!

Far Cry 3 has to be one of the most fun games ever to just mess around in.

Learning With The PooYoos: Episode 1

0

Educational titles are a bit of a rarity on the PS3, let alone ones for pre-school children. Enter “Learning With The Pooyoos”, a series of activities for very young children featuring a cast of cute cartoon animals. The game recommends 3-6 year olds, though that might be a stretch.

My take on Learning with the PooYoos Ep1 is that it’s a great game for 3 year olds. It probably wouldn’t hold the attention of the upper limit of its recommended age range simply because there isn’t much to do. Every child is different of course. This issue will be alleviated once there are more episodes on the More >
